bridging the gap 09/09/2014

Recognising young people have lots going in their life, the research team gathered the YAP to identify how other commitments might affect their ongoing participation in the BRIGHTLIGHT study. The YAP suggested a whole variety of factors that may act as ‘barriers’ or influence their decision to complete their next survey.  The YAP proposed a new communication strategy to get early results to young people taking part.

We now send quarterly postcards with early findings to all of our study participants to let them know how their involvement is making a difference!  We also sent two of our YAP members to FYSOT to present our work to 300 young people, watch the video here. Redesigning our website and letters to young people were two other suggestions we actioned to help more young people take part.
